In April 2024, French steel production fell to its lowest level since the beginning of the year, falling to 800,000 tons, a decrease of 11.2% month-on-month and 3.5% year-on-year. It ranks 19th in the global steel producing countries (out of 71 countries).
From January to April 2024, French steel production reached 3.34 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.1%. Average monthly steel production fell from 835,500 tons in the same period of 2023 to 834,500 tons.
