6.11 valve stem

A part of a valve with a channel through which the contents enter the silicon into the actuator when the actuator is activated.

6.12 valve housing

A part of a valve that is mounted on a retaining cap or ferrule to form an inner cavity for housing other parts of the valve. Such as springs, valve gaskets, valve stems, spacers, etc.

6.13 valve actuator

A part of a valve that is actuated by an external force.

6.14 dip tube

A length of conduit inserted from the top of the spray container to the bottom of the tank through which the contents are sent from the container to the valve.

6.15 Over cap

Removable cap over spray container to prevent accidental opening of valve.

6.16 Grommet

A single annular element made of elastoplastic material is installed between the container and the valve to enhance the seal.

6.17 valve gasket

An elastic sealing element in the valve whose function is to ensure that when the actuator acts, the contents are only ejected from the valve.

6.18 propellent

A liquefied or compressed gas that is packed into an aerosol container with the aerosol product to provide sufficient pressure to enable the aerosol product to pass through the valve and to be ejected in the desired form.
