7 Metal hose
7.1 Butt-ended tube
A hose that does not have a nozzle and can be opened by tearing the folded end, usually single-use.
7.2 one-shot tubes
A hose that empties its contents all at once and generally cannot be resealed.
7.3 Pipe shoulder
The sloped portion between the nozzle and the pipe wall.
7.4 tube wall
The flexible cylindrical portion of the hose.
7.5 nozzle
Outlet of the hose. When the tube wall is squeezed, the contents are expelled from the nozzle.
7.6 cannula nozzle
A special purpose extension nozzle. Such as the nozzle of an eye ointment tube.
7.7 membrane nozzle
A nozzle sealed with a thin metal septum that can be pierced with a needle or a pin cap.
7.8 torpedo nozzle
A conical closed mouth unthreaded nozzle.
7.9 Orifice
The hole in the nozzle for draining the contents.
7.10 Folding
The process of folding the flat end of a filled hose closed. Usually carried out together with hem pressing.
7.11 Crimping
Creases or corrugations are formed on the folded end of the hose to make the closing process more efficient.
